The Australian Wedding Awards™ evolved from the nationally recognised Wedding Industry Awards™ (WIA), both created and operated by Wedding Marketing Group Pty Ltd (WMG), established in 2000.

Originally launched as the Brides Choice Awards™ (BCA) in Macarthur, NSW in 2008, the program quickly grew to become Australia’s #1 regional wedding awards system. During the COVID period (2020–2021), the program was restructured and relaunched as Wedding Industry Awards™ (WIA) in February 2022, allowing it to expand across more than 30 wedding regions nationally.
In January 2022, the Australian Wedding Awards™ (AWA) was introduced to elevate regional excellence onto the national stage — providing all businesses, regardless of size, a fair and transparent opportunity to compete.
Wedding Industry Awards™ is a non-membership-based program, driven by real-world client experience. Newlywed couples across Australia vote for the businesses that exceeded their expectations — creating one of the industry’s most powerful referral and reputation platforms.

Only Podium Finishers from the regional Wedding Industry Awards™ automatically qualify as Finalists in the Australian Wedding Awards™:
